More overseas carnage at Wellbrook!

Another glorious game at Wellbrook, as Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl against YouTube sensations Three Bridges.

Again, the opposition got away from us, with white ball bully Cooper taking Cripps for 3 huge 6s in his first over. We struggled to make a breakthrough, until Sharma’s naughty Jimmy Anderson impressions got Cooper, caught and bowled. Allen struck soon after, caught at mid wicket, bringing Golding and overseas Parkes to the crease. They combined to put on a huge partnership, with Mayfield not able to stem the flow at all. Neither seemingly got away from us, but then elegantly tucked along, whilst also striking some huge blows in the midst. Once Jallen and Sharma had completed their spells, the carnage got worse, Cripps the only man to pick up wickets, but at the scary figures of 3/111 from 10. All the other bowlers: Harding, Trotter and Saker all went at over 7 an over, meaning a gargantuan total of 371

With some lingering injuries amongst the group, and a huge total, confidence was low. But the outfield, pitch and brand new pink balls were all in MCC favour. Fitchet and Raymond got us going quickly, along with Sharma, but all eventually fell in quick succession. Killops continued his fine form with another 50, and all the batters below him made between 20 and 40 in the heavy pursuit. All batting points were collected but evidently, we fell short. Three Bridges ultimately outplayed us in all 3 facets, and thus came out victorious.
